Someone Else's Problem

lyrics

Day Five

I tried to give an explanation but the words wouldn’t flow. Oh no.
Faces sink in disappointment, now you want me to go out there and get ‘em.
I see the urgency and I wonder why it falls to me to meet them in the field.
Can’t you see I’m begging?

Guess I told you all I know. Could be mad enough to try to save them all.

Meet my maker with a smile (he’ll tear it off)
Bare the contents of my soul (he’ll rip it up)
I thought honest hearts would be enough to make the cut, but I can’t see my actions on the wall. (somebody else can take the fall)

A second chance was all I needed to rethink how I own my flaws, they’re many.
But the temptation to succumb to my distractions is fierce.
Do you believe me?
Who am I to tell you what to do?
I’m no exception to the call.

Guess I told you all I know. Could be mad enough to try to save them all.

If we could tear ourselves from our reflections maybe we could tackle the injustice of this world.

Meet my maker with a smile (he’ll tear it off)
Bare the contents of my soul (he’ll rip it up)
I thought honest hearts would be enough to make the cut, but I can’t see my actions on the wall. (somebody else can take the fall)
